Lift the garage door on the ancient art and culture of salumi by taking part in our Salumiversity workshops, demonstrations and tastings hosted by Home Make It.


 

SALAMI MAKING DEMONSTRATION - $10

Feed someone salami, they’ll be happy for a day. Teach them how to make it and they’ll be happy for a lifetime. See the art of salami making in action and learn all about the process in this demonstration presented by Home Make It.

Saturday: 1pm - 2pm

THE MINI SALAMI SESSIONS WORKSHOP - $40

If you want to get a little more hands-on, our practical salami making workshops, in small groups, are the perfect way to learn the craft.In this workshop you will be the one mincing, mixing and filling the skins with guidance from the team at Home Make It. Aimed at first time makers and novices and those wishing to hone their skills this is the perfect introduction to the fun of salami making.

Each Mini Salami Sessions workshop participant will receive a Festa showbag and apron.

PANCETTA, CAPOCOLLO AND HAM MAKING DEMONSTRATION - $10

Salami is clearly the star of the festa however it’s happy to share the spotlight with Pancetta, Capocollo and Ham. Let Home Make It® show you how no part of the pig goes to waste with the creation of these other delicious cured meats.

BREAKING DOWN THE PIG AND INTRODUCTION TO KNIVES - $10

Whether you’re a budding maker or just want to sharpen your understanding, breaking down the pig is an integral part of the salami making processes. Troy Wheeler from Meatsmith Specialty Butcher and Wine Merchant will guide you through from nose to tail and show you which part of the pig all the meat for your favourite cold cuts comes from. Cut Throat Knives, will also offer advice on how to select, care for and sharpen your knives correctly.

SALAMI SAFARI - $10

Don’t know your salami from your salumi? Stress not. Let us guide you through a tasting plate of delicious examples of cured meats.

It’s the perfect introduction to joining the salami army.

Saturday: 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm
Sunday: Midday, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm
Location: Rosemary Tasting Shed

To confirm your exclusive place in one of our Salumiversity workshops you will need to first purchase a ticket to the Festa. Once you have purchased your ticket you can select and secure your seat.
