The Mortadella Sessions
Mortadella is like the distant cousin of the salumi family, the cousin that you rarely hear or know anything about. Mortadella might not be as sought after as its more popular relatives, salami or prosciutto when it comes to gracing the menus of Melbourne, but that does not mean it is any less deserving of our praise or attention.
The team at Ombra are wanting to change this perception and are supporting Mortadella’s comeback if you will. So we’ve teamed up with them and Home Make It to bring you these authentic instructional workshops to teach you the art of making Mortadella. Held at Ombra Salumi Bar in Melbourne’s CBD the workshops are kept small for the best possible learning experience.
Chefs Dom Marzano and James Vardis will lead the Mortadella class followed by Home Make It who will demonstrate bonus demos on making Capocollo and Pancetta. In typical Italian fashion lunch will of course be served.
The Mortadella Sessions last 5 hours.
