Welcome to Melbourne Salami Festa Home Made Salami Competition.
The aim of our festa is to preserve this ancient tradition and also to honour and celebrate you, the maker who keeps it alive year after year. We love bringing all the makers together to crown our champion each year.
Maybe this year it could be you.
We recommend you enter between 1kg – 1.5kg of salami (weight after curing) for judging and sampling for the People’s Choice Awards. You can provide less to us. ( We must receive at least one full salami) however it is important to note that this means fewer pieces of your salami will be tasted by the general public and this may put your team at a disadvantage in the People’s Choice Awards.
Our expert judging panel rate each entry out of 20 in the areas Taste, Aroma, Density and Colour.
On Grand Final day the public are invited to cast their vote for their favourite salami. Attend on Sunday and make your vote count. If you purchase a ticket to the Opening Night Party you can taste the competition salami and cast your vote ahead of the crowds.
A High Commendation awarded to a team, person, or entry that deserves a special mention.
Awarded to the suburb that accumulates the most amount of points from the judges. At the moment Reservoir reigns supreme. Will it be your suburb this year?
